The Middlesex series of tokens is the largest amongst all tokens. According to D&H, many of the tokens were struck for sale to collectors in addition to being used as currency. 

Meymott & Son's, who Issued this token manufactured and/or sold scales, weights and steel-yards.

From the British Museum there is a trade card in the Heal Collection (Heal,103.11) which advertises "Meymott & Son, (Late Read) Scale Makers, Bishopsgate Street, London. Scales, Weights & Stilliards for home trade & Exportation."
